چکیده

Abstract Cement Treated Base (CTB) is a foundation layer (base course) on flexible pavement and the development of soil-cement commonly used in construction that receives high loads. Generally, CTB combination coarse aggregate (split), fine aggregate, cement, water with zero slumps. The purpose this study was to determine optimum cement content mixture variations 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, 5%, 5.5% dry weight effect compressive strength resulting CTB. Experimental research laboratory 15/30 cm cylindrical specimens carried out analyzed. results showed for material 3.75% which obtained through graph relationship between content, from all made 4% 54.21 kg/cm2 meets general specifications 2018 Highways, namely 45 – 55 kg/cm2.

Prediction and Optimization of Compressive Strength of Sawdust Ash-Cement Concrete Using Scheffe’s Simpex Design

Frequent increase in the price of cement and other building materials across Nigeria has reawakened serious need to relate research to production, especially in the use of locally available materials as alternatives for construction of functional but low-cost dwellings in both rural and urban areas in the country. This article aimed at prediction and optimizing compressive strength of concrete ...

Influence of Pore Structure on Compressive Strength of Cement Mortar

This paper describes an experimental investigation into the pore structure of cement mortar using mercury porosimeter. Ordinary Portland cement, manufactured sand, and natural sand were used. The porosity of the manufactured sand mortar is higher than that of natural sand at the same mix proportion; on the contrary, the probable pore size and threshold radius of manufactured sand mortar are fin...

The Compressive Strength of Cement–Slag–Calcium Sulphoaluminate Ternary System

At present, there is an increasing interest on the use of calcium sulphoaluminate (C4A3$) in cement. In this paper, pure mineral of sulphoaluminate (C4A3$) was prepared in laboratory. Different dosages of steel slag and C4A3$ were blended into cement. The aim of this paper is to investigate the compressive strength of this ternary system. The test results show that the addition of C4A3$ can imp...

Factors Influencing Compressive Strength of Glass Ionomer Cement

This research aims to develop glass ionomer cement for dental application. Several factors that possibly affect the mechanical properties of our developed glass ionomer cements were studied. Developed cements were investigated for their compressive strength according to ISO 9917-1:2007 in comparison with the commercial glass ionomer cement. The different particle sizes and pre-cementation of gl...

Compressive strength of Portland cement pastes and mortars containing Cu-Zn nano-ferrite

This study is concerned with the synthesizing of Cu-Zn nano-ferrite particles in the laboratory applying simple techniques. The morphology of the synthesized nano-particles was analyzed using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and the minerals were identified using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The nano material was used to replace 1- 4 percent by weight of Portland cement in cement pastes and ...
